Barnaby Jack provides curated one-of-a-kind vintage clothing & accessories that take inspiration from our roots of the Sonoran southwest, as well as finding new appreciation from our new home by the California coast and travels abroad. Our vintage is either restored to its original beauty or up-cycled/altered to adapt to current trends.
We believe that true beauty does not come from perfection, it comes from the little 'imperfections' that make it unique: from the fading of aged denim, a patched hole or handmade 'mistakes', to smile lines and scars. It's these details that tell a story and truly make something one-of-a-kind.
Why buy vintage? This is a common question we are asked and the answer is simple: buying vintage is the easiest and most affordable way to shop without harming the planet. Not only is vintage one-of-a-kind, but it is essentially recycling, which prevents from adding to the enormous waste that is added to landfills every year (un-fun fact: Textiles make up almost 6% of the trash entering U.S. landfills annually). Vintage is for those who are tired of fast fashion, keeping up with trends and participating in the throw-away culture that we are currently living in. Most importantly, at Barnaby Jack, we wanted to make sure that buying vintage not only meant being green, but also giving back. That is why starting in 2020, we joined 1% For the Planet, a foundation started in 2001 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies. Together, they created an alliance of businesses that has committed to donate 1% of their sales every year to environmental groups. Since then, the the network has grown, and currently 1% members have now raised more than 250 million dollars for environmental initiatives. We are immensely proud to join this alliance, a guarantee to our customers that 1% of each purchase goes right back into supporting this planet that we love dearly.
